Jump Food!

I know a lot of you out there are working your tails off trying to gain muscle and are not getting results. There’s a good chance that you’re not reaching your potential due to improper diet and/or a lack of supplementation. This article will give you some diet and supplementation tips that will help you get the gains you’ve been looking for and consequently get you up and dunking, spiking, leaping, jumping, etc. in no time.

The first thing I want to talk about is protein. Your body uses protein to build muscles and tissues along with amino acids after your workouts. I’d recommend taking a protein shake as soon as possible after you workout. This will allow your muscles to repair themselves. A good Protein shake with whey protein and amino acids, can be the easiest way to get you dose of protein and get your muscles the food they need, quickly. Many shakes also contain carbohydrates that will replenish your lost energy. You can always get the proteins and carbs through other means, such as fish and pastas, but the shakes are quite a bit easier to manage.

As far as supplements go, I know a lot of people who have used creatine, which is created naturally in the body (body creatine) with great success. Creatine effects your muscles positively. Eveyones a bit skeptical at first but most come to trust creatine as a safe and dependable muscle builder. Creatine will give you the ATC (adenosine triphosphate) your body needs to work out harder. Creatine sports a cheap powder creatine monohydrate should give you the energy you need to push your muscles that much further. Many think that if you stop using creatine you will lose the muscle mass that you gained. You will only lose the mass if you stop using creatine AND stop using your muscles to their maximum potential.

Another supplement I would recommend is glutamine. When you work out and jump you put a lot of stress on your joints, and glutamine effects your joints and repair themselves quicker. There are no know glutamine side effects. It’s also not a bad idea to take a multivitamin, because your body needs vitamins, and most of us don’t get enough Also a good idea to take an ibuprofen or other anti-inflamitory and put an ice pack on any sore muscles or joints. You can find some cheap ice wraps at Walmart that are easy to use and allow you to go about your business while you ice down.

Utilizing all these different dietary methods will build muscles and increase jumping ability.
