Pistons owner Davidson mourned at funeral service
NBA commissioner David Stern and former Detroit Pistons great Isiah Thomas were among hundreds of mourners who gathered Tuesday to remember the late team owner and philanthropist William Davidson. "Your father was so unpretentious. You truly didn't know how powerful he was," Rabbi Joseph Krakoff said to one of Davidson's children during the funeral service at Congregation Shaarey Zedek in Southfield.

Bucks coach calls foul on Villanueva’s Twitter post
It might be the next big thing in online social networking, but Milwaukee Bucks coach Scott Skiles isn't a big fan of Twitter. At least not when one of his players is posting from the Bucks' locker room during halftime of a critical game. Bucks forward Charlie Villanueva got a talking-to from Skiles after the coach learned Villanueva posted a message to his Twitter feed - a "tweet" - from his mobile phone during halftime of Sunday's home victory over Boston.

Nets G Harris (shoulder) sidelined indefinitely
New Jersey Nets All-Star guard Devin Harris will be sidelined indefinitely with a sprained left shoulder and strained deltoid muscle. The Nets say an MRI on Tuesday showed no broken bones. Harris is undergoing treatment and will be out at least a week and possibly longer. Harris was injured in a fall Sunday in Los Angeles after being fouled by the Clippers' Marcus Camby on a layup attempt. He missed Monday night's game in Denver.

Rockets’ Landry shot in leg, to miss 1-3 weeks
Houston Rockets forward Carl Landry has been shot in the leg while driving near his home. The injury to his left leg was minor, and the team says the player was treated at a hospital and released. The shooting happened about 4 a.m. Tuesday, a few hours after the Rockets returned from a game at New Orleans. Houston police say Landry went home after the team arrived about 12:30 a.m. before going out. A car with two occupants hit Landry from behind.

Mavs’ Howard out at least another week
Mavericks swingman Josh Howard will be out at least another week because of an injured left ankle that may need surgery. The team says Howard will get a cortisone shot this week and will try to practice late next week. In a statement, the team added arthoscopic surgery "will be planned to address chronic issues regarding his ankle at a later date." The former All-Star last played March 5. Howard has missed several chunks of time this season with various injuries. In 45 games, he averaged 18.
